One Fonthill Park a rare example of English Regency Revival in our community - was built circa 1926 from plans stamped by the architectural firm run by Herbert M. Stern (1882-1977) and James B. Arnold (1881-1957). It is commonly understood that Herbert Stern executed the design for One Fonthill Park.
Before you enter from the front you will pass under a tempered glass canopy roof. When you step over the threshold you'll be warmly welcomed inside a charming enclosed Foyer with an original ceramic tile floor. Once inside you'll pass through French doors into the Vestibule.
The Vestibule is notable for its voluminous two-story form. To your right and two steps up is a small landing which, in turn, leads to the Powder Room. Straight ahead from the Vestibule, through a doorway, is the Kitchen. Just to the left of the door to the Kitchen is a guest closet. All the way to your left, off of the Vestibule, is the Living Room. The white oak floors you see spread out before you have recently been refinished.
The architectural centerpiece of the Living Room is a gas fireplace (converted from wood burning). Three long windows draw in natural light all day long. A graceful arch leads to the Dining Room. As you enter the Dining Room you'll notice on your left a French door that leads to the Family Room and Solarium. To your right as you enter is a threshold that leads to the Pantry/Kitchen eating area.
The Family Room is enormous! There are a number of large windows pulling in natural light. In addition, natural light also floods in from the Solarium. Please note the built-in bookcases. Laminate flooring has been added. Double doors from the Solarium take you out to the back yard.
On the other side of the Dining Room is the Pantry/Kitchen eating area. Extra counter & cabinet space in the pantry makes service into the Dining Room just that much easier. You'll love having all your informal meals in this room.
The Kitchen was completely remodeled by prior owners. Clean, crisp white cabinets (some with glass fronts) and a black-and-white linoleum tile floor compliment the interior and hearkens back to the first half of the 20th Century.
On the second floor there are four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The owner's bedroom has a private full bathroom and wall of built-in closets drawers and shelves.
Since 2011 over $65,000 in updates and upgrades have been invested in this remarkable home!
